Is your honey ready for primetime?

July’s meeting of the Blount County Beekeepers Association will try to get you there.

The July meeting of the Blount County Beekeepers Association will be on Monday, July 14, at 6:30 p.m. in the Blount County Library.

Dale Hinkle will discuss what it takes to get your honey ready for presentation at the various end-of-summer fairs and exhibits that occur in the East Tennessee area.

In another part of the program, BCBA president Stephanie Tarwater will talk about some of the diseases and pest that can infect your hive.

There will also be time for some questions after each topic.

As usual, we will have a session on seasonal management. This month the session will be led by Harlen Breeden, the association’s vice president.

If you have questions about what your bees are doing this time of year, the next BCBA meeting would be a great place to get some answers.

As always, our meetings are free and open to the public. Invite a friend to come along with you. Even if the friend isn’t interested in becoming a beekeeper, we always have lively, friendly discussions about what we should be doing with our bees.
